Just something that's been on my mind recently.
It's easy to look at really excellent work by really skilled artists and conclude that you'll never get to where they are - but that's nonsense. Every good piece of work, and every good artist, sits atop a mountain of shit that had to be climbed before the good work materialized.
And naturally, once you've gotten to the good work, it doesn't end there. Art is a journey that reaches up to the stars, with many little stops along the way, and never satisfies us with a final destination. It's a struggle against oneself and the external world. An artist is just someone who learns how to enjoy the struggle.
